Details | Tsutaya Juzaburo is the protagonist of the 2025 taiga drama "Berabou - Tsutaju Eika no Yumebanashi". Tsutaya Juzaburo, who introduced Kitagawa Utamaro and Toshusai Sharaku to the world and became a driving force behind Edo culture, was born and raised in 1750 (Kan'en 3) in Shin Yoshiwara, Edo (present-day Senzoku, Taito Ward). Shamisen, flute, taiko drums, small drums... Enjoy the sounds and sophistication of Edo while thinking about the era in which Tsutaya Juzaburo lived. |

Earned a PhD in Music from Tokyo University of the Arts. Representative of the traditional performing arts school Kogakuan. Studied from an early age under his father, the 10th Mochizuki Tazae-mon, head of the Mochizuki School of Kabuki Music, which has been in existence for 250 years. He is active in performances, lectures and outreach activities both in Japan and overseas, including the "Ohayashi no Kai" in Taito Ward, as well as in the United States, Germany and Austria (participating in the 30th anniversary of the sister city partnership between Taito Ward and Vienna City's 1st District in 2019). |
