Details | Nagahama City, Shiga Prefecture, a partner city of Taito Ward, has flourished as a Buddhist culture since the Nara and Heian periods, and the local people have carefully preserved and passed down the culture of Kannon statues and prayer. The Tokyo Nagahama Kannon-do, which promotes this "Kannon culture" to people in the Tokyo metropolitan area, opened in fiscal year 2021, but closed in December 2024. To express gratitude, the Tokyo Nagahama Kannon-do finale event, "Lake Biwa and Nagahama Kannon Culture - To continue to protect it in the future," will be held. |
