| Details | Kyoden, a man of many talents in the late Edo period who worked as a comic book writer, ukiyo-e artist, and tobacco pouch maker, was a refined man who frequented Shin Yoshiwara. During his lifetime, he married two courtesans. His second wife, O-Yuri, lived a happy married life, but Kyoden's sudden death left her all alone. She tries to build a mound for Kyoden's desk (a Taito Ward tangible cultural property), but when she faces difficulties, she struggles, snorting, "Hmph!" This film depicts the joys and sorrows of life, as it has always been. |
