| Details | The "Kids' Traditional Performing Arts Experience" offers an authentic hands-on experience to learn about traditional arts and culture. Over the course of several months, approximately 300 elementary, junior high, and high school students took on the challenge of "Japanese arts training" with professional performers of Noh, Nagauta, Sankyoku, and Nihon Buyo dance. They will then take to the stage, where tradition lives on, to present the culmination of their training in a full-scale production. There is much to enjoy, from the children's earnestness to the powerful performances by the professionals and the friendly talk. This recital has been a huge hit, even with beginners to traditional performing arts, who commented that it was "so much fun and educational!" Be sure to come and enjoy it with your family and friends. ① [Nohgaku] Date and Time: Sunday, March 22, 2026, 1:30 PM - 6:00 PM (scheduled) Venue: National Noh Theatre (Nearest Station: Sendagaya Station) Performance Course: Noh Chants & Shimai (Kanze School), Kyogen (Izumi School) ② [Sankyoku & Japanese Dance I] Date and Time: Thursday, March 26, 2026, 3:30 PM - 6:00 PM (scheduled) Venue: Asakusa Public Hall (Nearest Station: Asakusa Station) Performance Course: Koto [Shinjuku] (Ikuta School), Koto [Tachikawa] [Youth] (Yamada School), Shakuhachi, Japanese Dance Classes B & C ③ [Nagauta & Japanese Dance II] Date and Time: Friday, March 27, 2026, 3:30 PM - 6:00 PM (Tentative) Venue: Asakusa Public Hall (Nearest Station: Asakusa Station) Performance Courses: Shamisen [Shibuya][Shinjuku][Youth], Hayashi (Shinobue) [Higashimurayama][Shinjuku], Hayashi (Kotsuzumi), Japanese Dance A Class [Youth] *Free admission (advance registration required) / Preschool children welcome / Entry and exit permitted *Doors open 30 minutes before the start of the performance. |
