Ueno Toshogu Shrine Peony Garden (Botan-en)

Ueno Toshogu Shrine's Peony Garden (Botan-en) was opened in 1980. Visitors can enjoy over 500 flowering peonies in bloom including Chinese, American, and French varieties. Bleeding heart flowers (lyre flowers) and rhododendrons will be in full bloom starting mid-April. And early May is the best time to see Chinese peonies. We welcome you to enjoy the flowers in the rich green environment of Ueno, in central Tokyo.
