There is also an exercise hall in Asakusa Hanayashiki, in which visitors can get experience of "Kenjutsu," or art of fencing, "Tonjutsu," or art of hiding, and "Shuriken," or art of throwing throwing-knives. It is said that, in the Edo Period, the Tokugawa family and feudal lords also enjoyed plays and street performances at Okuyama in the rear of Senso-ji Temple after visiting the temple. Ninja and shogun's spies might follow the family and lords in order to protect them.
